Job Description:


To provide the necessary leadership, with a servant’s attitude, to make the Children’s Ministry a reflection

of the church’s mission (Sharing Christ, Connecting people and Serving others).



Primary Duties and Responsibilities:





Direct & oversee Children’s Ministries: Weekend and midweek programs


Recruit and motivate volunteers effectively serve in Children’s Ministries


Provide regular training opportunities for those working in Children’s Ministry (both staff and



Analyze needs of Children’s Ministry and establish appropriate priorities and goals to have those needs



Oversee the best utilization of space for the Children’s Ministry


Review, evaluate, and implement age-appropriate, disciple-making curriculum for Children’s Ministry


Develop and coordinate outreach projects within the community for the purpose of reaching

unchurched children (2 – 3 a year)


Responsible for clearly communicating Children’s Ministry opportunities/ministries/etc. to the larger

church body


Staff Relationships


Report directly to the Senior Pastor


Work with Finance Department in recommending and administering annual budgets for the Children’s



Attend weekly staff meetings as a resource


Attend weekly staff meetings to see and be a part of the entire vision/mission of the church (team



Cooperate with the Senior Pastor by performing additional duties when asked to do so




A growing Christian who has a passion for the Lord and leading people to Jesus


Strong communication skills


Strong ability to recruit, equip and deploy volunteers into Children’s Ministry


Experienced in serving and leading a relatively large children’s ministry (400 children and 200





At least 3 years experience leading a Children’s Ministry
