Shelbyville Community Church is a non-denominational church of 750 in central Indiana, about 20 miles southeast of Indianapolis. We are searching for our next Worship Pastor. We are a contemporary church that celebrated our 20th anniversary last summer.
We're in the process of planning for our next span of ministry, and are praying hard to listen and find what God has for us in this next season. Our current worship pastor is leaving on good terms, and is moving on to start an independent ministry outside
of the church. He has agreed to stay on until we find his replacement. Whoever comes in next will have an amazing opportunity to build a ministry that is primed for growth in opportunities to be creative, to add new people to the teams, to train artists
to lead others, and to be part of a staff team that works hard to serve as a team instead of in silos.
Our senior pastor has been here for 20 years, and the rest of the staff is a combination of veteran longevity and new members with fresh ideas. We are definitely seeking a leader who can build teams, create systems, train other leaders, and reach into our
community. We've hired a Pastor of Communication in the past eight months who is incredibly gifted and has brought an immediate jump in excellence and creativity to our culture, who will work alongside this new position.
If you are a leader who loves teaching people all of the different ways to worship, pour into volunteers, and defines success by how well your teams do, we'd love to talk to you. We are moving towards a multi-generational worship model, we are strategic
partners with Willow Creek, Fuller Seminary, ReThink, and other national organizations. We are looking towards multi-site in the next phase, and this position is crucial for us in those projects.
To be clear, we need someone with experience leading teams more than extensive on-stage performance experience. If your main calling is to be the lead worshipper on a weekly basis, that isn't our primary role for this job. You need talents, skills, and
knowledge musically. But your long term goal is to train others to do those roles.
