Job Description:

Looking for a dynamic worship leader who has the ability to lead over 40 volunteers, full band, sound, lights, tech, and creative team.  This person must be a team player, with the ability to work with a large church staff and a large number of volunteers. 







The Pastor of Worship and Technology shall serve as a Program Pastor at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, and shall fulfill the responsibilities of the minister in the spirit of 1 Timothy 3:2-7.  This pastor is also expected to live in harmony with the Covenant of Christian Living of the Church of the Nazarene as stated in the Manual: Church of the Nazarene.  Employment shall be for a term of not more than one year, and shall be renewable upon recommendation of the Senior Pastor at the beginning of each fiscal year (Manual, paragraph 161.2).




1. Lead the congregation in Christ-centered, God-honoring worship. Leading the congregation with confidence and humility into the presence of God; pastoring the congregation through worship rather than merely leading music or presenting a program.


2. Lead in the creation and execution of Sunday worship services.

Crafting fluid, thematic, artful worship services - that draw on the best of             worship practices and resources from across the ages and around the world.  Act as the service "producer", working with Planning Center and the Lead Pastor to create smooth experiences. 



3.        Lead and Pastor the Praise Team and Tech Ministry teams

Shepherd teams (band, vocalists, choir, tech team, drama, etc.) to be faithful stewards of their gifts in worship, to share in community, and to grow deeper in their own relationship with the Lord. Constantly invest in new talent, audition new members regularly.


4. Lead the Tech Team

Supervise sound system/lighting equipment purchases and upkeep, train the sound engineers and computer operators.  Supervise the sound systems/lighting in the Gym, Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.

Work with our administrative staff to maintain the website and the app, design graphics for the website and app.  

Oversee and produce a live feed for online broadcast, as well as the audio and video podcasts. 

Locate (or create) videos on an as-needed basis for worship.


5. Pastoral Care

Provide pastoral care to leaders and workers in this ministry area through devotional times, prayer times, retreat experiences, and other opportunities as available.  Assist with hospital visits and other pastoral calling to members of the music ministry as needed.


6. Produce Special Season Events

Produce and direct musical and/or dramatic presentations at special times of the year as planned on the Master Calendar.  These could include: Christmas, Easter, Missions Festival, or other special times.


7. Annual Budget

Develop and submit an annual budget request for all music, sound, and technology ministry areas and oversee expenditures in order to maintain budgeting integrity.

Mac computers 


Musical experience:

Ability to lead from the guitar or piano

Must be able to lead both the band and arrange vocals

Should have 2-5 years of experience leading worship in a church size 300+.

The Senior Pastor



An extremely important aspect of this position is the spiritual character and integrity of the person who fills it.  The Pastor of  Worship and Technology should also demonstrate administrative skills, be a team leader, possess spiritual sensitivity, and exhibit these qualities in everyday life.  This pastor must have a love for music people which is evident.  The Pastor of Worship and Technology acknowledges the responsibility to act in the best interest of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene at all times, and is expected to conduct his/her private and public life in a manner which will not embarrass the church.  Additionally, all pastors, ministers, and directors are to have an experience of salvation, baptism, and sanctification.  They are to share their faith, promote the spiritual good of the church, serve the community, and express the love of God to those they have contact with.
