Who We Are

CityChurch is a contemporary, non-denominational church in central Charlotte. We describe ourselves as being “Real, Relational and Religion Free.” We are a warm & welcoming community-oriented church, and, since being planted nearly 7 years ago, we have grown steadily to 250 people. We purchased our own building in July 2013 and are situated to experience tremendous growth in the years ahead. This is a really exciting season in the life of our church!  

The Purpose & Role

This role of the Church Administrator is instrumental to the life of the church as this person is responsible for ensuring the essential day to day functions of the church office & building as well as the smooth delivery of Sunday Services , pre and post service events, congregation wide monthly events and occasional special events.

This 20 hour per week position provides an exciting opportunity for a personable, motivated, organized individual with previous administration and event planning experience. The ideal candidate should be highly competent and efficient, proactive and an excellent motivator of teams able to ensure smooth running of the office, services and events while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.

The Role

Sunday Service & Activity Coordination for Services, Courses, Pre Service Programs, Monthly Community Sunday Lunches, Pastors Lunches. Duties include:

a. Working with Welcome Team Coordinator and volunteer service teams

b. Securing service materials & ensuring hospitality supplies in place each week
c. Coordinating service graphics and bulletins
d. Coordinating Sanctuary and room set up and tear down

e. Executing post event administrative wrap up & visitor follow up

f. Visitor follow up


Congregation Wide Events and Occasional Special Events Coordination including Worship & Connection nights, Spotlight Events & Courses. Duties include:

a. Working with volunteer service teams (See below)
b. Securing event materials & hospitality supplies c. Coordinating graphics and print materials
d. Ensuring sanctuary and room set up
e. Executing post event administrative wrap up


Volunteer Coordination for above events to include

  • Organization and communication leading to operational excellence and smooth execution of events
  • Maintaining a high level of quality and consistency
  • Reflecting CityChurch values and volunteer ministry philosophy

Day to Day Office & Facility Management to include:

a. Coordinate and manage office supply & office hospitality needs

b. Answer Phone, coordinate mail & recycling, coordinate technology & copier maintanance
c. RSVP Management for church events
d. Database management

e. Facility scheduling & coordination of room needs, set up & tear down

f. Ensuring clean, functional & inviting office environment & common spaces

g. Manage storage and hospitality areas

h. Work in conjunction with facility manager and cleaning manager as needed

i. Coordinate and manage facility bookings


Church Communications & Administrative Assistance As Needed

a, Assist with church wide communications  to potentially include coordination of website updates, weekly update emails and print material creation.

b. Administrative Support As Needed for Senior Pastor & Director of Integration & Operations

c. Diverse Ad Hoc Project Management

d. To be an instrumental part of the staff team embodying and communicating the CityChurch values and through this role encouraging connection, involvement and engagement.


The ideal candidate will:

a, Be outgoing & personable

b. Demonstrate excellent written & oral communication skills

c. Be organized, efficient and detail oriented

d. Enjoy working with volunteers and teams able to motivate others in a positive way

e, Be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at a time

f, Have previous administrative and event management experience

g, Have MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database mastery

h. Adobe Graphics Program experience (inDesign, photoshop & illustrator) a plus

i. Website management & social media experience a plus


Reporting & Salary
This position reports to the Director of Integration & Operations
Approximately 20 hours per week, Including Monday, Thursday & Sundays
