Job Description:

Bakersfield First Assembly (www.bakersfieldfirst.com) is looking for a minister who understands that reaching families is vital to the existence of the church. The Family Life Pastor will work closely with our Student Ministries Pastor and Children’s Pastor to develop an overall ministry to reach, connect, equip, and keep families.


Here are some brief details about our church:

  • Multi-generational membership and vision
  • Attendance: 1,100 children, youth, and adults in 2 Sunday A.M. Services
  • Multi-staff pastoral team
  • Pre-school through 8th grade Christian school – 600 students
  • Great facilities including gymnasium and athletic fields on a 30-acre campus


Here are some of the qualifications:

  • Ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God mandatory (sorry, it’s in our bylaws!)
  • Previous pastoral experience required
  • People skills and relational skills vital
  • Since you minister to families, it would be best to have a spouse and children of your own :)
  • Most of all, you gotta love to laugh!
