Columbus Avenue Baptist Church


Primary Function
                The Events Coordinator will provide seamless, administration, leadership, and management

                of all operational and financial aspects of event coordination with a concentration on Cafe Columbus, an all church meal on Wednesday nights.

                Associate Pastor of Administration and Operations


Primary Responsibilities

·         Coordinate dining room set up, guest tables, drapes, props, and décor

·         Perform guest relations

·         Assist in serving line and or dining room as needed

·         Maintain linens and coordinate cleaning in a timely manner

·         Schedule volunteers for each event as needed

·         Supervise all set up preparations

·         Be a resource person and facilitator to the event host

·         Supervise the cleanup and tear down of the event

·         Be proactive in event scheduling

·         Assist the event host with catering and food ordering

·         Cooking Wednesday night meal for 50+ people using pre-cooked and /or prepared food

Secondary Responsibilities

·         Organize and maintain on hand supplies including ordering and cost comparisons for efficiency

·         Organize and maintain the kitchen keeping it clean and neat at all times

·         Assist with Food Service Coordinator to ensure adequate supplies are on hand for their job

·         Meet with the Associate Pastor of Administration and Operations on a regular basis.

·         Participate in weekly staff prayer times

Education Requirements

·         High School diploma or GED

·         Minimum of one year proven leadership experience in event coordination and food preparation

          with light cooking



To qualify as a candidate for this position you must have the following:

            Excellent people skills and the ability to collaborate as a team

            A passion for excellence and the ability to work with effectively with deadlines

            Excellent listening and relationship building skills

            Able to read, write, and speak English

            Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task

            Proficient working knowledge of a commercial kitchen

            Have a general understanding of event coordination and the process involved

            The candidate must be a Christ follower with a growing personal walk that aligns with

            the mission and beliefs of our church

            Dependable transportation

            Ability to be consistent on the job each week


About the position

            This position is part time up to 29 hours per week with limited benefits. The hours are

            variable during  the

            day and some evening and weekends as events are booked. Food preparation and cooking is for

            50+ people with either pre-cooked or prepared foods.
