 Children's Ministry Director

 

 I.   Position Summary

 1. To share grace in community by providing foundational opportunities for the children  of OMPC to be biblically educated and equipped to live out the gospel in their homes, schools and daily lives.

 2. To share grace in community by the development of curriculum, learning objectives, recruitment and training of teachers for the spiritual formation hour on Sunday morning.   

3. To share grace in community by providing leadership to the OMPC  Children’s Ministry.

4. To share grace in community as the Staff Liaison of the Children’s Ministry Team.

 

II. Position Requirements

 

Knowledge Areas:

 

      1.   Reformed and Covenantal theology.

      2.   Grace oriented and Gospel driven ministry philosophy

      3.   Religious education for children

      4.   Systematic, comprehensive curriculum planning and development

      5.   Teacher recruitment and training methods

      6.   Nursery and children’s ministry/programs

 

Educational/Experience Profile:

 

      1.   Masters of Religious Education (required)

      3.   Proven Christian Educator

      3.   Minimum of 5 years large church staff experience

 

Skill Set:   

 

      1.   Comprehensive curriculum design, planning and promotion.

      2.   Teacher recruitment and training.

      3.   Creative, innovator, outside the box thinker.

      4.   Collaborative work style.

      5.   Proven team builder.

      6.   Experience relating to parents and parental involvement.

      7.   Written and oral communication skills

      8.   Staff management experience, commitment to excellence, attention to detail

      9.   Ministry Team leadership experience.

IV.      Position Responsibilities        

 

Major Responsibilities

 

1.  Responsibility Description

 

Provide leadership and oversight for the Spiritual Formation hour of the Children’s Ministry. This would include, but not limited to curriculum development, teacher recruitment and training, organizational structure at all levels and the establishment of specific age and stage learning objectives of biblical knowledge.

 

2.  Responsibility Description

 

Provide leadership, strategic planning and oversight for the Children’s Ministry staff. This would include, but not limited to staff recruitment, training and management, routine staff meetings and individual staff development time.

 

3.  Responsibility Description

 

Provide oversight, linkage and quality control of all children’s ministries and programs insuring excellence and creativity.

 

Other Ministerial and Oversight Responsibilities

Serve as Staff Liaison for the Children’s Ministry Team providing administrative services and coordination for the Chairman, Vice Chairman and team
