Job Description:

A growing and dynamic evangelical church in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area is in need of an Executive Pastor to lead the operational functions of a church with 2500+ in weekly attendance at multiple campuses.

The primary function of the Executive Pastor is to effectively manage the organizational needs (non-ministry functions) of the church.  The Executive Pastor will ensure the operational readiness of the church through leadership and oversight of the support staff performing duties in administration, finance, human resources, supply, and facilities management. The goal is to allow ministry pastors and leaders to focus on the quality and growth of their areas of responsibility and to give them the support and coaching they need to effectively reach our community for Christ.

Qualified candidates will have verifiable experience in the following areas of organizational management:

  • Financial: Lead the development of the annual operating budget and ensure compliance to it throughout the year.  Supervise accounting employees and their process to ensure good governance.  Submit and review the financial report with the elders monthly.  Lead building programs and fund raising campaigns.
  • Human Resources: Develop and manage human resource policies and procedures, manage benefits contracts, recommend organizational changes as necessary.
  • Operations: Manage facilities personnel to maintain high quality of experience for attenders, make capital expenditure recommendations, lead new campus development and facility planning, manage insurance needs, provide management coaching to staff, oversee service contractors for IT and facility needs
  • Marketing/Communications: Develop and manage a communications role for the internal and external communications of the church through various media, develop and manage our brand and ensure consistent use throughout the organization, lead marketing efforts as needed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  At least 10 years’ experience as top executive at a church/non-profit organization or private sector company with a long history of exceptional growth.  Experience must include significant involvement with the business disciplines of human resources, finance, and operations.  Candidates must have a demonstrated and verifiable history of a deep relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to spread the Gospel. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Finance or other related field is desired, but experience in these areas is required. Master’s work in Biblical studies is a plus. The successful individual must have a proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above reproach character.  Significant experience on a leadership team of an evangelistic church is very important.
