Church of the Redeemer in Gaithersburg, Maryland is opening its search to the online community for a christian music director that is well versed in a variety of styles, including Christian contemporary, gospel, and traditional hymns. This position reports to the music ministry department head of the main campus and serves other environments and campuses as needed.

The position description is listed below, but what the applicant needs to know about us ahead of time is that we look to hire for heart over skills. We choose character over competence, though competence through experience and education is required to be considered as a solid contender.  Qualities such as passion, honesty, follow through, commitment, integrity, loyalty and longevity mean more to building the kingdom of God for us than "just" how good one is musically.

A good deal of training teams and individuals is involved with this position. We are looking for a constantly growing Christian leader who happens to also skillfully play music and lead other growing leaders.
