POSITION: Interim Assistant for Student Ministries 6th-12th grade (Girls Ministry)

Salary Range: $13 per hour 15-20 hours a week, except for weekend retreats where there will be compensation for 8 hours a day for days of the retreat.

Summer: $13 per hour 20-30hours a week, except on retreats where there will be compensation for 8 hours a day for days of the retreat.


The Student Ministries Assistant’s purpose is to assist students, especially our female students, to thrive as they “Connect, Grow, and Serve” here at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church . They will be directly involved with relational, incarnational, and transformational ministry to students. This will include leading, implementing and administration of Sunday night and Wednesday night programs, high school girl’s small group, outreach events, trips, appropriate “hang out” time with the students, and camps and retreats that foster holistic ministry for students.


This position is on an interim basis until the end of the summer of 2014 where the person holding the position will be reviewed. If the situation is a good situation it can become a permanent position for her.


-Works with Student Ministries Director and SM staff on implementing vision for ministry
-Attend Retreats (for example, Summer Camps and Winter Camps)
-Build relationships with students, helping them to “Connect, Grow, and Serve”
-Participate and, at times, lead Sunday and Wednesday Night Program.                                                                                               
-Work with volunteer staff by knowing, loving and celebrating them
-Build trust and connect with parents by providing opportunities for them to plug in and engage in the ministry

-Facilitate and participate in small group ministry

-Participate and, at times, lead Urban Plunge on Wednesdays. *

* Is only expected during the summer when these programs are implemented


-A devoted follower of Jesus Christ
-A passion for assiting students and families to thrive

-Spiritual gifts that are beneficial to a teaching, equipping, and relational ministry
