Job Description:

Position Title:  Senior Associate Pastor

Objective:  To support the Lead Pastor by implementing strategy through the Team Leads overseeing the day-to-day ministries and operations of the church, ensuring our values are embraced helping us accomplish our mission and see the vision of the church become reality.


Reporting Relationship:  Lead Pastor


Primary Responsibilities:


1.     Strategic planning

  • Serves on the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)
  • In conjunction with the Lead Pastor and other SLT staff lead the strategic planning process
  • Plan and lead the Team Leads meetings
  • Oversee the ministry evaluation, planning and budget process
  • Oversee the multisite strategy
  • Oversee the growth of generosity at Door Creek Church (DCC)

2.     Supervise, coach and develop key staff

  • High School pastor (team lead next gen--children through College)
  • Director of Care Team
  • Pastor of Growth Groups (Future position)
  • Pastor of Community Dev (team lead over Local and Global)—just hired
  • Campus Pastor—Door Creek North
  • Director of Operations (Finance, Facilities, IT)
  • Executive Administrative Assistant

3.     Develop Staff and culture of Door Creek Church

  • Prime driver of the strategy and philosophy of the overall church, based on the senior pastor’s vision.
  • Oversee the supervision, care and development of staff
  • Ensure alignment of staff and ministries to our mission vision and values
  • Oversee staffing—including mid-level and support staff

4.     Lead the Growth Group Team (currently led by Lead Pastor)

  • Oversee Growth Groups
  • Grow Weeks
  • Woman’s ministry
  • Membership Class-Discovering DCC

5.     Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor

Education and experience

Looking for a man of godly character with proven effectiveness as a leader of teams in a large church setting with at least 5 years of ministry experience.  College Degree is expected--theological training a plus.
