Haworth First Assembly of God is a church that believes not only in reaching and ministering to the people within the four walls of the church, but that we should go outside of the church and reach those that are hurting and have a need. We are a outreach
oriented church that thrives on reaching people for Christ.
The person that applies for the position of youth pastor must be able to communicate on a level that will impact and influence students that are from inner city (Gang) backgrounds as well as students from families within the church.
Our youth department grew from about 25 students to around 110 within 3 months. Currently the youth ministry is averaging around 50 students as can be expected with transition, but with the right fit can easily bounce back to it's former average.
Our church is located in a VERY rural area. Town population is about 350, however our church runs around 250 on Sunday AM. We have a city with the population of 15,000 in which we bus in several students from there.
We are very active in the community through adopt a block, block parties and other forms of outreach and the youth pastor must be willing to be involved with the students as well.
Our church incorporates media within our services and any experience in this area would be very beneficial, but not necessary.
Any musical ability is a plus as well, as we prepare students for the district national fine arts festival.
Haworth First Assembly is not your typical church. We have principles that we operate on and that is:
