Christ Community Church is a multi-site ministry of 5,000 serving the western suburbs of Chicago. We have a passion for creative arts. We are seeking a talented individual to serve on a dynamic team and assist with the lighting ministry for this campus.

The Lighting Specialist is primarily responsible for the weekly maintenance and programming of lighting systems in the St. Charles Main Stage Auditorium, for the successful execution of all weekly services and special events. This position receives direction from the Technical Manager and works alongside any and all lighting team volunteers.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops lighting concepts for services and special events in collaboration with the Producer and other Creative Arts Team members, and under the direction of the Technical Arts Manager
  • Provides direct support for main auditorium services and events at the St. Charles Campus, which includes operation of aiming lights and light board patching
  • Coordinates the work of volunteers involved with lighting production for weekend services, special events, and training
  • As directed by the Technical Manager, provides consultation to other staff to maintain standards of excellence in lighting production across all ministries and campuses
  • Maintains all lighting equipment in the St. Charles Auditorium
  • Assists the Technical Arts team as needed

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS DIRECTED BY THE TECHNICAL MANAGER AND/OR CREATIVE ARTS DIRECTOR

The Lighting Specialist agrees to take on additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor and as necessary for the continued development of the Creative Arts Ministries of Christ Community Church.  These responsibilities will most likely be added according to the gifts, passions and talents of the employee, designed to address the growing and changing needs of the ministry team and may be added at the initiative and discretion of the supervisor.

 

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to and interacts most significantly with the Technical Manager
  • Works as a team member on the Creative Arts Team
  • Interacts frequently with the Creative Arts Team Captain and Producers
  • Meets with other ministry leaders and team members to coordinate events with a lighting component
  • Helps recruit, schedule and supervise adult and student volunteers in support roles
  • Submits to the Senior Pastor and Board of Elders of Christ Community Church

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years work related experience
  • Experience training and directing the work of volunteer teams
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours based upon special events and regular weekend services
  • Key spiritual gifts of creative worship, administration and service
  • Willingness to commit in membership to Christ Community Church within first 12 months of employment
  • Ability to fulfill the physical, mental and emotional requirements of the position, and work within the necessary work environments, as listed in the attached ADA task list, which is considered an addendum to this job description
  • Willingness and ability to comply with and support all policies, procedures, standards and statements outlined in the Employee Handbook, position papers and other official documents created for Christ Community Church
  • A growing committed follower of Jesus Christ. (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)
