In the late 1960’s, a group of students at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville were inspired with a vision for a new kind of church. This band of friends believed that God had given them a vision for doing something spectacular in the name of Christ.
In 1977, the group, with fewer than 30 worshippers, began meeting in a home in Little Rock, and on August 21st of the same year, Fellowship Bible Church held its first official service at Little Rock’s Anthony School. In the 1980’s, services moved to the Pulaski
Academy gymnasium and again to a local movie theatre. Then in 1985, Fellowship built its own worship center, and by the mid-90’s five free standing buildings formed the church.
In 2004, Fellowship Benton was launched as a campus of Fellowship Bible Church, joining the Little Rock campus. In 2007, Fellowship established its third campus in Cabot. Situated in different communities, each campus has its own pastoral staff, ministries,
and feel, but the campuses are united as one family with one mission. On most Sunday mornings, all campuses experience the same biblical teaching via video from the Fellowship team of pastors, which enables them to reach into their different communities with
the same hope. From the start, Fellowship Benton has been more than just a place or another church; it is a community of people following Jesus together as they take his message to a city they love and to a world that needs it.
To further its mission of “Making Disciples who live by God’s Grace and for His Glory at Home and Around the World,” Fellowship Bible Church is hiring a Kids Pastor for the Benton Campus. The primary focus of the position is to lead the Children’s Ministry
as a means of helping families grow as followers of Christ. This person will also work closely with the Campus Pastor in the leadership, shepherding, and growth of the campus’ people and ministries. Strong relational, leadership, and pastoral skills are necessary,
as well as an obvious passion for kids.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. He or she will have had a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
leading a children’s ministry, preferably in a setting similar to that of Fellowship Bible Church. Proven experience in creative thinking and problem solving is strongly preferred. In sum, the successful candidate will be ready to go from day one on the job.
Organizational skills are very important as well as the implementation of ideas. The successful candidate should encompass these qualities and follow through with their creative ideas.
