Job Description:
Daybreak Church is a vibrant, growing fellowship in coastal North San Diego County. Carlsbad is an affluent beach community and the members of Daybreak reflect that culture. The Children's Director is responsible for overseeing the entirety of children's ministry (birth through 5th grade). This includes providing leadership and vision for overall program development, coordination and implementation. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Provide vision and direction for children’s programming and curriculum

Recruit, hire, train, lead, schedule and provide direction for volunteers and staff

Create and oversee policies and procedures to provide a safe, quality environment for children

Coordinate yearly program calendar

Responsible for all communications of children’s programs and events to children, parents, staff and volunteers

Oversee budget for children’s department

Education and Experience:

Bachelors and/or Seminary degree in education, Christian service or related field; Minimum five years experience in supervisory/leadership capacity

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to children and adults

Strategic thinker that exhibits the ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Ability to effectively present information and to respond to questions from parents, staff and volunteers

Must possess solid time management skills and organizational abilities

Effective team player, with the ability to also work independently

Ability to delegate, motivate and equip people to do ministry

Position Hours and Benefits:

40 hours/week including Saturday and Sundays
