Foster City Campus High School Director/Pastor - Job Description


Central Peninsula Church (CPC) is a thriving multi-site church of over 2,400 people on the San

Francisco Peninsula. Our mission is “to make and mature more followers of Christ.” We are one

church that meets at three different locations. The High School Director/Pastor provides leadership to our

High School Ministry at the Foster City Campus. The function of this full-time position (50

hours per week) is to develop and lead a growing high school ministry that moves students

towards maturity in Christ through evangelism and discipleship.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a vibrant high school service (meeting Sunday morning)

• Implement the vision and strategy for spiritual growth of high school students

• Recruit and equip a team of leaders to work with the High School Ministry

• Develop a strategy for engaging numerous secular High School campuses with the gospel

• Provide leadership to High School Ministry Life Groups

• Oversee the development of a core of student leaders

• Connect and counsel with students and parents as the need arises

• Help equip and disciple the assigned intern to High School Ministry

• Develop meaningful relationships with students through a variety of settings

• Organize and plan activities, retreats, and the overall calendar of the High School Ministry

• Create effective transitions into and out of High School Ministry

• Implement and execute the Best Practices of CPC

• Be involved in staff meetings, activities, and staff responsibilities

• Work closely with our Student Ministry team (Foster City, North and South Campus)

• Drive students to events in the church vans

• Be available to do other tasks that the Campus Pastor deems necessary



• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ: desiring to grow in His love and knowledge

• Effective communicator (large and small groups)

• Highly relational; a person who likes working with students, adult leaders and families

• Innovative developer with a commitment to reaching unchurched students

• Proven track record of leading and administrating a multi-faceted ministry

• A “leader of leaders”

• Be a team player (work with pastors, directors, staff, ministry leaders, the body, and community)

• Agree with the vision, values and doctrinal statement of CPC

• 5+ years of high school ministry experience (preferably in a large church setting)

• 4-year degree, seminary preferred

• Good working knowledge of technology; speci"cally Macs, CS6, F1, iWork, Office

• Possess a California Class B Drivers License (within 6 months of employment)

• Good interpersonal skills

• Multi-site experience desirable
