Job Description:
  • Serve on the worship team and meet regularly to plan services
  • Prepare stage and equipment for weekly rehearsals and worship services
  • Oversee audio (music/sound) and visual (screen/backgrounds/ live worship videos) worship experience.  Constant vigilance regarding what goes up on the screen…spelling, song verses, etc.
  • Recruit, train and coordinate a pool of audio/visual volunteers to do manageable parts of the work. While expertise in audio and lighting is a must for this position, the emphasis in on empowering others to develop their skills, not doing everything yourself.  The Technical Director should fully staff the needed positions with volunteers and then be prepared to fill in, train, and troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Work with the worship team to help create, market, and graphically illustrate a number of sermon series offerings during the year.
  • Film and edit video projects for worship and the website under the direction of Clergy and Director of Marketing.
  • Work cooperatively/amicably/caringly/thoughtfully with all staff and congregation members.  Clergy will supervise.
  • Manage and maintain a high degree of quality in the execution of sound and video for the weekend worship services.
  • Work 15 to 20 hours per week.  It is the responsibility of the technology director to parcel out the time appropriately. 


Knowledge and skills

  • Proficiency with video editing software
  •  Proficiency with digital audio mixing consoles
  • Proficiency with graphic design software & presentation software (photoshop, illustrator, pro-presenter,etc.)
  • Working knowledge of uploading video and audio files to the internet
  • Experience in video, A/V technology and graphic design
