Position Summary


The Student Ministry Associate is responsible for developing and implementing outreach to community students. This person will also work with the Pastor over Student Ministries to implement and execute Middle School mid-week programs and camps and support with High School trips and camps.  The Student Ministry Associate will support the Pastor over Student Ministries with weekly Sunday Morning celebrations and will be responsible for developing and maintaining all Student Ministry media.  This person will also be responsible for executing additional assignments as they arrive.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1.  Implements and executes outreach to community students
    a)    Works with the Pastor over Student Ministry to determine the best plan for outreach to accomplish the goal of moving non-involved community students to weekly discipleship program
    b)    Responsible for planning, communicating, setup, execution and clean-up of necessary program or events
    c)    Contacts and directs team of volunteers
    d)    Teaches once a month

 

2.  Implements and executes Middle School mid-week program and Middle School camps

     a)    Works with the Pastor over Student Ministry to determine the best plan for mid-week programming and middle school camps
     b)    Responsible for planning, communicating, setup, execution and clean-up of necessary   programs or events
     c)    Contacts and directs team of volunteers
     d)   Teaches twice a month
 

3.  Supports Pastor over Student Ministry during weekly Sunday Morning student celebration and High              school camps/trips
     a)    Oversees check-in for Sunday Mornings, including, but not limited to, scheduling and organizing   teams, implementing procedures to promote student check-in and welcoming new students
     b)    Oversees set up for Sunday Mornings, including, but not limited to setting up ProPresenter,   arranging the room, purchasing and setting out supplies
     c)    Leads a middle school small group
     d)    Teaches once a month
     e)    Assists in planning, executing, and serving at High school camps/trips
      f)     Executes additional assignments as needed
 

4.  Develops and maintains student ministry media
      a)    Takes pictures, video, and student quotes
      b)    Uses media to create an online presence in various social media areas
      c)    Creates an virtual community among student body
 

5.  Executes additional assignments as they arrive
     a)    Reports to the Pastor over Student Ministry
     b)    Meets regularly with the Student and Family Ministry
     c)    Executes additional assignments as needed

 

Qualifications

  1. Required: Completion of high school, a working understand of the Bible, Theology and Student Ministry. A vibrant relationship with Christ.
  2. Preferred: Partial or full completion of Undergraduate or Masters level of education, College level study of Bible, Religion or Ministry and/or equivalent.
  3. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, an ability to act on both aprofessional and personal level with people, work independently as well as part of a team, self-motivated, able to hold others accountable and a high level of emotional intelligence.
