Job Description:

First Baptist Church, Centralia, MO, is seeking a full time Associate Pastor.  Primary responsibilities will be in youth ministry with dual responsibilities in one other area.  FBC is a congregation of about 250 people.


The candidate must have a heart for Jesus, our youth, and their families.  A passion for reaching the un-churched and challenging youth to grow in their relationship with Christ is essential, as well as the ability to balance fun and discipleship. The candidate will need to be able to communicate with all other staff and be in accord with the Pastor.


Experience:  Preference will be given to the candidate with a Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field however; an exception can be made for the right candidate


Functional responsibilities:

1.)   Provide spiritual leadership to youth, families, and volunteer workers

a.)   Energetic

b.)   Organized

2.)   Additional areas of ministry

a.)   For example; education, missions or media

b.)   Areas dependent on applicant’s gifts

3.)   Assist Pastor as necessary

a.)   For example; share preaching responsibilities and hospital visits

b.)   Be available for “pitching in with the team”
