Job Description:
Part-time Worship Leader to join the multiple staff team at Rainier View Christian Church. We are an independent, multi-campus Christian church located in Tacoma, Washington, averaging 1200 people in five services on two campuses. We are contemporary and culturally relevant in our style and Bible-based in our theology. We use various art forms, such as music, drama, technical and visual arts, on a regular basis in our worship services and have a team approach to ministry.
Currently seeking a part-time Worship Leader for our Graham campus, located in Graham, Washington.

Basic Requirements:

* Ability to model authentic worship and to lead and engage a diverse congregation
* Display a strong passion and spiritual gifts in the arts, specifically music and worship
* Proven experience in a contemporary worship setting
* Strong vocal ability with a contemporary vocal tone and quality
* Guitar player. Ability to lead a guitar based worship service
* Ability to read sheet music and chord charts
* Strong communication skills in speaking to large groups
* Ability to lead a worship band through a structured rehearsal
* Encourage, cultivate and coach music volunteers
* Participate in weekend service planning meetings

Additional Preferred skills:

* Recruit, train, evaluate and schedule music volunteers, both instrumental and vocal
* Counsel, shepherd and disciple volunteers in their spiritual growth
* Ability to write and compose music to enhance God's word in a manner relevant to this community
* Ability to arrange and orchestrate music for band instrumentation to include brass and strings
* Ability to write vocal charts and coach vocalists in the areas of blend, pitch, tone and presentation of the music
* Research, introduce and teach new and culturally relevant music for specific messages
* Maintain music library and make available necessary music resources for weekly teams
* Basic knowledge and understanding of sound reinforcement and techniques
* Participate and/or lead in special events such as weddings, funerals, workshops and conferences as needed


Bachelor's Degree preferred with some formal training in music


Part-time, salary based on qualifications and experience
