Senior Pastor position available. First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, NM is seeking a man called of God to fill the position of its Senior or Lead Pastor. FBC-Bloomfield is a Southern Baptist church with an average Sunday worship

A master’s degree or doctoral degree related to ministry is a plus. Past service as either a senior pastor or as a senior staff member at a church of a size that would prepare the candidate to lead a church of FBC-Bloomfield’s size and diversity is a plus.
The ability to lead a multi-level staff and groups of volunteers is an important attribute.
Bloomfield is located in the high desert of the Four Corners Region of New Mexico, and is about 45 minutes south of Durango, Colorado. The cities of Bloomfield, Farmington, and Aztec form a triangle of cities along the rivers flowing through San Juan County,
New Mexico, and they are located approximately 10 miles from each other along the legs of the triangle. The church draws members from all three cities and the surrounding unincorporated areas of the San Juan County.
San Juan County has a population in excess of 100,000 people. The county has three dominate cultures: Anglo, Hispanic, and Navajo. There are other minorities in the community as well. The extractive industries of oil and gas along with coal are the economic
base of the County.
Citizens of the County experience outstanding four-season weather, world-class trout fishing and hunting, and excellent hiking, biking, and camping opportunities. Snow skiing is about one hour’s drive away In the winter, and the area supports several outstanding
golf courses, including the Farmington Municipal course which has been repeatedly voted one of the nation’s best municipal courses by Golf Digest.
Bloomfield and its surrounding area is a blue collar community whose citizens are predominately employed in various energy-related fields, agriculture, and public service jobs. The income level of the church members exceeds those of similarly situated areas
due to the nature of well-paying energy-related jobs, independent businesses that serve the energy industry, and relatively low taxes in the area.
