Church Overview
St. Mark Baptist Church was founded in 1892 and is a community of followers of Jesus Christ in the heart of Little Rock, the capital of the state of Arkansas.  We are a progressive outreach driven church with a mission of “Reaching People Where They Are.”  Our membership is comprised of over 8000 members with a total of 20 full-time and 30 part-time professional and administrative staff.  We have three (3) Sunday morning worship services as well as simultaneous worship services that are tailored for children of all ages.  Our church offers over 75 ministries on our 14-acre campus with facilities that include a Worship Center, Family Life Center and an Education/Outreach Center.  St. Mark is financially sound and poised for a future children and youth building project.

Position Overview
The Youth Pastor is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive program of Christiandevelopment for children and youth.  The Youth Pastor is also responsible for collaborating with other staff members and ministry directors concerning activities in their divisions when children and youth are involved.



Survey the needs and realistically consider the areas of concern to be included in a ministry for children and youth.  Keep Senior Pastor informed on issues regarding the children and youth.
Plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate special events such as church-wide children and youth events such as camps, retreats, fellowships, and other outing.
Conduct training sessions for the ministry directors and volunteers in the Youth Division.
Provide oversight and guidance to the entire Youth Division.
Provide counseling to the children and youth as needed.
Assist the Senior Pastor with preaching and teaching as needed and other duties as assigned.



Develop volunteer staff and leaders to bring out the full potential of our children and youth.
Develop and encourage a biblical learning experience that enhances all worship services for the children and youth.
Implement systems that allow our children and youth to grow spiritually, emotionally and cognitively.
Embrace the church DNA.



Meet biblical qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9
Track record of healthy ministry success in a multi-staff environment
Solid biblical understanding
Bachelors degree and Seminary preferred from an accredited institution
Experience in leading a variety of programs for children and youth and have the ability to plan, organize, train and supervise ministry directors, event leaders and volunteers.
Training and/or experience in spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children/youth and also have the ability to provide them with Christian counseling.
Highly effective oral and written communicator with ability to explain the Scriptures
Healthy personal and family life
Strong decisive leadership and organizational skills with the ability to delegate
