Relationship Structure:
The Middle School Pastor is accountable to the High School Pastor, with ultimate accountability to the Pastoral Staff, Elder board and the Congregation.

1. Depend on God.
The Middle School Pastor will encourage the spiritual development of students first and foremost by cultivating a personal relationship with God. By having an effective prayer life and by being personally engaged in scripture, he will be a role model to follow in his walk with God. Then, through his dependence on God, he will seek to show genuine compassion and humility while sharing the gospel, exercising his spiritual gifts, and teaching other adult leaders to do the same.

2. Build relationships.
The Middle School Pastor must be able to relate to the middle school students both spiritually and socially. He should seek to build his relationships through interacting with the students as a whole and as individuals. He should seek to foster his relationship with them through Bible studies, counseling, service projects, missions, school activities, and through a personal involvement in their lives. The MSP must also seek to foster the relationships of students with their families and be able to communicate with parents the direction of the Middle School Ministry.

3. Disciple students.
The Middle School Pastor must seek to disciple students through the teaching of God’s word, church doctrine, prayer and worship. He should challenge them to have a deeper walk with Christ, encourage them to share the Gospel, provide a Biblical response to today’s social pressures, and give guidance and counseling in developing relationships. He must also be able to correct, discipline, and hold teens accountable in their discipleship.

4. Direct Ministry
The Middle School Pastor will set goals and develop a vision for the middle school ministry. He must work closely with the High School Pastor to develop a comprehensive plan to disciple students and develop student leadership. He will need to plan, teach and develop the curriculum for Sunday School and Wednesday nights. Since this task requires other adult helpers, he must be able to recruit, train and lead a team of adult leaders to accomplish the goals and vision of the Middle School Ministry. He is also expected to be actively involved with the entire Pastoral Staff of Faith Church and work in a broad way to shepherd our entire congregation.
