Upper Deer Creek Church is seeking to fill a full time Youth Pastor position. This position oversees all aspects of student ministries, ages nursery through graduation, but will primarily be focused on kindergarten through graduation. This person will
also be an integral part of the ministry of Upper Deer Creek Church by overseeing the Christian education of all ages, including adults, as well as being involved in various aspects of life in our congregation.

The Youth Pastor must have a love for God, a love for youth of all ages, and a pastoral heart to see them grow in their relationship with Christ. The Youth Pastor must be willing to be a part of our congregation in heart, and in action. In addition, the
following are required:
Must meet the 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 qualifications for church leaders
Must have/be pursing a degree in ministry, or a related field (or have equivalent experience in ministry)
Must have a commitment to Upper Deer Creek Church’s vision and ministry
Must be willing to equip and disciple
Must be capable of working together as a team in ministry with the other UDC staff members
Must be gifted in teaching children of multiple ages
Must be able to create and maintain relationships with UDC members of all ages
Must have a joyful spirit and good sense of humor
Must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision
Must have an understanding of the importance of christian education in the life of a congregation
Must have a mission-minded heart, seeking to reach the lost in our community and beyond.
Upon offer, candidate must pass full, multi-state background check
Leading the Youth of our church. This may be done by:
Coordinating the Childrens Ministries of UDC.
Teaching Sunday Morning Childrens Church (and revisioning the ministry
Organizing a mid-week childrens program
Overseeing other Sunday Morning Children’s Ministries and working with
Planning annual programs and creating new opportunities with the staff of
Assisting the Associate Pastor with the Jr. Sr. High Youth Ministry of UDC
Teaching a Jr. Sr. High Sunday School Class
Assist in organizing weekly youth group meetings
Being involved in local schools by attending lunches and other extra
Working with Associate Pastor to gradually assume responsibility for the Jr. Sr. High Youth Ministry
Assisting in planning and attending special programs at UDC
Participating in various boards, such as the Executive Board, the Deacon Board and others.
Constant communication with the Senior and Associate Pastors on plans and situations in ministry.
Occasionally preaching on Sunday mornings, as requested by Senior Pastor.
