Eastlake Community Church


General Purpose

The Financial Accountant for Eastlake Community Church is responsible for capturing, recording, and reporting financial transactions for the church and all affiliated operating entities using GAAP for nonprofit and for profit organizations.

Team Relationships

The position is part of the Eastlake Central Support Finance Team and reports to the Director of Finance.  Functional relationships with Human Resources, Payroll, Contributions, CPA/Audit, and Property Management are additional keys to success.  Strong supporting relationships are required with other Eastlake Central Support members as well as with each Eastlake Campus location.


Position Deliverables

  • accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
  • compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and GAAP
  • timely payment of all financial obligations
  • timely response to all inquiries – internal and external
  • accurate management of lead accounting system modules – AP, Fixed Assets, and others to be assigned
  • monthly, quarterly, and annual closing functions and reports
  • financial reports delivered per schedule
  • budget and forecast reporting per schedule
  • secure and confidential database management
  • accurate and timely reimbursement of staff expenses via appropriate systems
  • any additional responsibilities to be assigned

Education and Experience

  • accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • knowledge and/or experience in accounting computer applications
  • knowledge and/or experience in accounting general ledger systems
  • knowledge and/or experience in nonprofit accounting a plus
