JOB TITLE:        Campus Pastor, Casa Grande Campus


DIRECT REPORT:          Lead Pastor

POSITION STATUS:         Full-time


The Campus Pastor serves over all ministries of Sun Valley at the Casa Grande campus. Casa Grande is a fast growing community of 50,000 people (avg. age 33) located 30 miles south of the Phoenix Metro area.   At present, the Casa Grande campus serves about 275 people in weekend services at Vista Grande High School with ministries for all ages.  The staff team consists of a worship leader, children’s, youth ministry intern and administrative staff, along with numerous volunteers who lead in small groups, guest services and outreach.  The primary role of the Campus Pastor is to develop health and stability as the ministry grows.   


  • A track record of spiritual maturity consistent with the biblical standards for pastoral leadership
  • Agree/Align with the vision, values and doctrinal statement of Sun Valley Community Church and be able to champion those things
  • Be willing to live in the community of Casa Grande
  • Ability to move the church from 275 to 1000
  • Grasp, embrace, recreate and advance the culture of Sun Valley, integrating it with the Casa Grande culture
  • Think with great innovation and resourcefulness while aligning with Sun Valley systems/processes
  • Recruit, develop and deploy an outstanding team of staff and volunteers
  • Be self-motivated, not needing micromanagement, yet love to live life with a team


  • Oversee implementation of all ministries/leaders in Casa Grande in conjunction with the greater Sun Valley vision
  • Lead the Campus in:                                                                                              

-      the implementation of the Sun Valley pathway of Come-Grow-Serve-Go

-      the training/collaboration/evaluation of ministry staff (children-student-adult)

-      the staff’s implementation of goals/budget/calendar

-      evaluation and improvement of the weekend experience

-      creating a healthy team environment

-      reaching the community with the gospel

  • Develop a great reputation and working relationship with community leaders
  • Problem solve in congregational matters of the Casa Grande campus
  • Work in coordination and collaboration with other campus pastors/lead pastors

REVIEW:             Participate in annual job performance reviews and monthly evaluations.
