The Director of Communications and Technology position exists in order to ensure that church members, boards and committees and the wider public are provided the information they need in order to fully engage in the life of the church and to fulfill their
obligations to CUCC. The position ensures that CUCC obtains and maintains an electronic infrastructure that supports worship and the administrative functions of the church. This position is responsible for the development, publication, and maintenance of all
print and electronic media and databases for the church as well as church technologies: videography, sound systems, network, telephony, and the like.
Week to week, the primary duties of this position are worship bulletins and PowerPoint presentations, FaceBook updates, and weekly e-newsletters. We also have a monthly newsletter. This position is responsible for making updates on an existing web site (with
simple HTML software). Each of our 10 a.m. Sunday services is videotaped then edited for distribution to two retirement communities. The Director will coordinate congregants in that work (the same congregants who will train the Director on how it all works).
Lastly, the person in this position will serve as a resource for church technologies, becoming familiar with our sound, computer, and telephone systems as well as the service providers who keep them running.
Essentially, we are looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, a willingness to jump into any task, able to “learn on the fly” and ability to recruit, motivate and manage congregants in this shared ministry.
