Women’s Pastor -­ Job Description


The Women’s Pastor of Central Peninsula Church is a full-­time position (50 hours per

week). The Women’s Pastor will provide pastoral care and leadership for the women of

CPC along with the ministries that are specifically designed to serve women.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee all Women’s Ministries

  • Oversee Steering Committee
  • Shepherd key leaders of all Women’s Ministries (e.g., Directors & Coordinators)
  • Attend key meetings for all Women’s Ministries
  • Maintain the Women’s Ministries that the Lord has currently set up, but welcomes (and sometimes initiates) creative changes as they are needed
  • Recruit volunteers for various Women’s Ministries while protecting certain volunteers who might get overused
  • Vet and approve all guest speakers
  • Propose and submit budgets for all Women’s Ministries
  • Able to use Fellowship One

Additional responsibilities

  • Make hospital visits
  • Make home visits
  • Officiate memorial services and/or attend funerals
  • Baptize (when specifically requested)
  • Hold regular CPC office hours for appointments with women, but understands some weekends and evenings will be impacted as crises arise
  • Agree to support leadership of the Elders, CPC Core Values, Statement of Faith, Position and Informational Papers
  • Live out a team spirit with all other CPC ministries, pastors, staff and leaders
  • Attend CPC Staff meetings
  • Rotate her attendance of campus-­specific meetings (Foster City, North and South)
  • Willing to invest in church-­wide events (LoveWorks, Easter and Christmas services, Global Leadership Summit, etc.)
  • Occasionally willing to host at all 3 CPC campuses for Sunday worship services
  • Has cooperative versus critical or competitive spirit with other CPC ministries and leaders, including deacons and deaconesses
  • Participate in Women’s Bible Study (WBS)
  • If she has a teaching gift, exhibits a willingness to teach occasionally at:
  • -- WBS
  • -- MOPS
  • -- Girl Talk
  • -- Other CPC ministries, when invited (College, 20’s, etc.)



  • Woman of His Word (ongoing coachable and teachable spirit to His Word)
  • Woman of prayer (sees prayer as a critical part of her call and work)
  • Shepherd’s heart and a passion for women of ALL ages and stages (e.g., elderly, sick, singles, divorced, married, widowed, mothers)
  • Able to give genuine care, counsel and love to women while not becoming the ‘fix’ that women might yearn to have
  • Fosters organic care of “women caring for women” within the body
  • Wisely refers women with extreme counseling needs to professionally trained, CPC-­approved counselors
  • Has a love for all ethnic groups
  • Good public presence and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willing to be the emcee at various Women’s Ministries events
  • Able to speak truth with love as needed
  • Able to draw clear boundaries when needed
  • Physically presents herself in a current yet modest way
  • Strong organizational gifts
  • Able to problem solve while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Able to live in the tension of serving alongside women not necessarily like herself
  • Practice confidentiality
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Women’s ministry leadership
  • Good working knowledge of Macintosh OS X, Word and PowerPoint
