Position: Worship Administrative Assistant

Hours: Salaried - 40 hrs/week  (Monday - Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday)

Class V: Hourly wage or salaried employee scheduled for 40 or more hours a week on average

Supervisor: Pastor of Worship

Worship Style: Modern (Hillsong, Jesus Culture, Desperation, Passion)


Position Description:

The primary responsibility of a Worship Administrative Assistant (WAA) is to provide musical, clerical, and administrative support to the Worship Pastor. This qualified candidate will be responsible for using their personal gifts and technical skills to ensure the Worship Pastor is able to be more effective and efficient in the successful accomplishment of his leadership and pastoral roles.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or support musically for Saturday, Sunday, First Wednesday and Special Services
  • Manage team scheduling through Planning Center
  • Prepare for rehearsals - setting up stage, printing charts
  • Create new charts using Finale
  • Purchasing of musical and non musical items as needed
  • Prepare and edit various worship related correspondence
  • Assist in planning and preparing for special events, guest worship leaders and concerts
  • Schedule appointments as needed
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and create itineraries as needed
  • Answer telephone calls/emails and respond to inquiries from the worship team, church attendees, and general public
  • Maintain records and files
  • Assist in effectively managing and stewarding ministry oversight budget
  • Take thorough notes at meetings
  • Assist with any social media needs
  • This position may also require the leading, scheduling, preparation and development of the youth worship band, or assisting the current active youth worship leader

  • Previous experience leading worship
  • Strong vocally
  • Able to read lead sheets and knows basic music theory
  • Excellent keyboard and/or guitar skills
  • Excellent stage presence, a public worshipper
  • Minimum of 3 years related administrative experience
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively
  • Independent judgment and initiative
  • Skilled in the use of operating basic office equipment
  • Proficient computer skills (Macintosh knowledge recommended)
