Job Description:

This full time position is responsible for the leadership, vision, and execution of the Children’s Ministry at our Chesterfield campus. This pastoral position is responsible for recruiting, training, encouraging, and  leading the campus children’s staff and volunteers in the children’s ministry. So what does that mean? The best person for this job thinks through both a pastoral and a leadership grid. The Children’s Ministry Pastor will have a dogged commitment to the spiritual health of both the Children’s ministry, the Chesterfield campus, and The Crossing as a whole. The Children’s Ministry Pastor must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead both adults and children in ministry.



Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Displays both a calling to Children’s ministry and to The Crossing
  • Demonstrates a knowledge and confidence in Scripture
  • Demonstrates strong spiritual health as well as a level of spiritual authority
    • Trustworthiness
    • Understanding and living out of healthy boundaries
    • High level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
  • High levels of communication
    • Able to communicate to adults in a non-kid way
    • Relates well with others
    • Able to navigate the art and the science of Ministry App and pastoral conversations
  • Champion of unity (echad) throughout all Crossing Ministries and campuses


Ministry Leadership Responsibilities

Recruit and train volunteers

Build relationships with parents and families

Ministry conversations regarding ministry apps, baptism, and child dedication

Hold vision

Lead children’s staff at campus

Work with Kid’s Ministry Director on budget

Ability to interact with all kinds of people in a consistent, pleasant, loving, and helpful way
