Foster City Campus Children’s Pastor - Job Description


Central Peninsula Church (CPC) is a thriving multi-site church of over 2,400 people on the San

Francisco Peninsula. Our mission is “to make and mature more followers of Christ.” We are one

church meeting at three different locations. "e Children’s Pastor provides leadership to

CPCKids at the Foster City Campus. "e function of this full-time position (50 hours per

week) is dedicated to: leading a team, training adult leaders, teaching, implementation of weekly

programs, events, small groups and vision as it aligns with the overall church.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a vibrant CPCKids for infants through 4th grade

• Lead children and their families to follow Jesus

• Provide leadership to the Pre-School Coordinator and Element Coordinator (paid staff)

• Recruit and empower leaders to lead in our CPCKids

• Recognize #rst-time guests by sending information about CPCKids to their home

• Maintain regular communication with CPCKids leaders in order to build ownership

• Lead creative team meetings in order to implement our curriculum on Sunday mornings

• Create systems and events to thank and appreciate CPCKids leaders

• Work with Campus Pastor on Baby Dedication Services and New Parent training classes

• Oversee the CPCKids budget to accomplish our mission and vision

• Provide resources for parents and families as needed

• Oversee the setup and operation of all CPCKids environments on Sunday morning

• Create quarterly events with the goal of connecting the unchurched to CPC

• Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled

• Oversee communication between the church, children and families

• Collaborate with our CPCKids team on all three campuses

• Be available for other tasks assigned by the Foster City Campus Pastor



• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ: desiring to grow in His love and knowledge

• Effective communicator (large and small groups)

• Highly relational; a person who likes working with kids, adult leaders and families

• Proven track record of leading and administrating a multi-faceted ministry

• Be a team player (work with staff, ministry leaders, the body, and community)

• Agree with the vision, values and doctrinal statement of CPC

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• 3-5 years children’s ministry experience (large church setting desirable)

• 4-year degree

• Good working knowledge of technology; speci#cally Macs, F1, iWork, MS Office

• Multi-site experience preferred
