Director of Student Ministries

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing a prevailing ministry to and through students with:

  • Age-appropriate programs for both middle school and high school students that are structured & strategic and are continually the best part of their week every week. Programs should include full band worship experiences.
  • Trained, equipped, and well-lead adult leadership teams that understand the vision of the ministry, are bought in fully, and approach ministry to teens with a team effort. Teams should have regular meetings for team building, training, and evaluation & tweaking of efforts.
  • Media-rich environments that are specifically designed for students, that reflect a high standard of excellence, and that are continuously changing and improving. Environments should be sensory driven and attention to detail should be evident.
  • Large scale events that are strategically designed to attract teens and their families, that are sensational, professional, and well publicized, and that pack a serious WOW!-Factor punch. Must be at least 4 per year.
  • Small Groups that effectively connect each teen with a consistent adult leader of the same gender weekly and that drive the event calendar with individual small group events, which happen often and utilize and/or involve parents.
  • Student missions initiatives local, non-local, and international in scope. To plan and present all-inclusive opportunities for students and parents to serve both their own community, neighboring communities, and communities around the world for the purpose of reflecting Christ and growing in His likeness.
  • A student leadership track that helps students discover the way they’re wired up, develop their specific gifts, serve their local church, and grow as a leader through classes, conferences, experiences, and service opportunities.
  • A web and social media initiative that’s relevant and always current. Happenings should be published, posted and tweeted well in advance and should always be followed up with pictures, videos, and comments.
  • Community involvement in schools, and other civic organizations. Fueled by the idea that we should be on their “turf” as much as they’re on ours, Director of Student Ministries and team should be a part of Christian club meetings in public schools, visit students at lunch, ball games, and performances, and should be a catalyst for the church’s involvement in opportunities to serve our schools and community in ways that impact teens and their families.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in Student Ministry
  • A track record of success in Student Ministry
  • Formal ministry training/education
  • High personal standard of excellence and enthusiasm
  • Alignment with the vision and approach of CMCC
  • Awareness of current youth culture
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strength in leadership
