Job Description:
Participate as a key member of the Ministry Leadership Team which is commissioned to realize God’s calling for the community of believers at Mars Hill. Provide leadership (vision, strategy, structure, and priorities), for the Kids and Students ministries (individuals from birth through college) to develop a ministry that leads young people to live the best kind of life—the life God means for them to live. This would include: leading, directing, and encouraging others as an actively-involved member of the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT); working with the Kids and Students pastors to create and implement an overall vision for Kids and Students Ministries that is aligned with the larger vision, identity, and practices of Mars Hill; leading, coaching, and developing the Kids Pastor, Students Pastor, and other ministry team members; and managing budgeted resources.

Qualified candidates should have a worldview that is aligned with the vision, mission, directions, and narrative theology of Mars Hill; have at least 7 years of experience as a Children's or Youth pastor in a large church setting; and possess a minimum of 5 years as a manager. In addition, candidates should have: a strong desire to see students’ lives transformed through teaching, community, and acts of service & sacrifice; demonstrated success in collaborating with others to create and implement strategic plans at both organizational and functional levels; the ability to unite staff and volunteers around a common mission; a passion for and proven experience in developing others, bringing the best out of leaders who lack organizational experience; the ability to engage difficult issues and individuals, courageously speaking the truth and confronting where necessary; and a demonstrated spirit for strategic exploration, innovation, and change, which includes a relentless desire to pursue the highest possible level of quality in every area. A Bachelor's degree in a ministry-related field is required (a Masters degree is a plus).
