Concord Christian School is an outgrowth of a long history of First Baptist Concord’s love for and ministry to children. First Baptist Concord has been serving the community of Knoxville through its Weekday Early Education (WEE) Program for preschoolers for over twenty-two years. The program was developed to support and encourage parents by laying a firm and positive foundation for their young children. First Baptist Concord opened its doors to the very first group of Concord Christian School students in 1996. Since then, CCS has grown to serve more than 400 students in grades K-12. A high school has begun, and growth is both planned for and expected in the coming years. The new Headmaster will play a key role in achieving that growth.

The Headmaster will join with the lead pastor in fulfilling the mission and vision of the school and the church. First Baptist Concord has a vision to inspire and equip viral disciples and families to experience astonishing movements of God. Concord Christian School is an integral part in fulfilling that vision. The headmaster will be expected to increase enrollment in all grades, improve the sports program, and drive excellence in academics - all in an effort to make Concord Christian School a viable competitor with other local schools. In addition, there is a mother’s day out program and pre-school that reports to the headmaster.

The successful Headmaster will be an entrepreneur, a masterful delegator, and will have a strong record of significant administrative experience. He will be energized by a challenge and have a burning passion to create, grow, develop leaders, generate ideas, and possess the skills to execute them. It is expected that the Headmaster will have at least 3-5 years of experience as a headmaster, dean, or significant executive role at a large church or education organization. It is also expected that they have a masters degree.

Knoxville has served as the hub of its region since its founding in 1791. The best of its Appalachian heritage remains today - a strong work ethic, a family-centered community, and an intense respect for the natural beauty that envelops the region. Knoxville has a true southern charm yet also a distinctive diversity that makes it a great place to raise a family. Knoxville is Tennessee’s third largest city with a population of almost 200,000. It is also one of the fastest growing regions for diverse age groups. Due to the low cost of living and abundance of recreational activities – golfing, hiking, shopping, etc. – there is no wonder why both workers and retirees are coming to Knoxville. In addition, the proximity to the rest of the eastern United States allows residents to easily travel to see family or for pleasure.
