Job Description:
Progressive and growing African American church in Western Wayne County with membership of 1000 is seeking an individual who loves a challenge of growing a ministry, loves creative out-of-the-box ministry. Must be fun-loving, hard-working, able to manage volunteers, creative, organized, and able to communicate and teach music to all age groups. In addition, this individual should have a teachable spirit with a desire to learn and grow in this ministry as they serve. He/she will be an energetic, people-oriented person who strives to build strong relationships with both children/youth and their parents as well.

Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong knowledge base of the Purpose Drive Church (PDC) philosophy. The church is staff led which necessitates an individual with strong relational skills.

The organist/pianist will play the piano/organ for the choirs during rehearsals when requested and for the choirs and congregation during worship services and special events. The pianist/organist should attend weekly worship and bible study and support the ministry of the church by tithing.

Length of Service Commitment One year minimum

1. Doing responsibilities/preparing for responsibilities: four to fives hour a week (more during special events)
2. Participating in meetings/training: one hour per week or as directed.

1. Attend weekly staff meetings
2. Attend all worship services.
3. Play piano/organ during regularly scheduled services.
4. Play as scheduled for special services: revivals, concerts, seasonal programs, etc.
5. Play for choir practice as scheduled.
6. Play during offertories as scheduled.
7. Optional: Play during weddings and funerals as employed by the individuals requesting such services.
