Job Description:

 

Director of Children and Family Ministry (PT/25 hrs/wk)


Purpose:  Provide leadership in the areas of faith development and nurturing of children and families. Collaborates with pastoral and ministry staff to create a culture that embraces kids in our ministry by supporting the Mission, Core Values and Ministry Initiatives of RC.

 

Position Description:

Oversight and coordination of children/family programming

  • Weekly Sunday kids programs
  • Weekly KidJam – both Blended and The Canvas
  • Weekly Wednesday kids programs
  • Special Events/Summer Programs
  • Kids Space Design
  • Operation of RC Nurseries (Babes & Waddlers)
  • Check in System

Oversight of all program staff

  • Volunteers
  • Interns
  • Screening, Background Checks, Training, Scheduling

Participates as a member of the Pastoral Staff Team

  • Attending weekly staff meetings
  • Actively contributing to the ongoing development of annual/seasonal congregational ministries

Prerequisites:

Active faith in Jesus Christ

B.A. in Education, Early Childhood Ed. Children’s Ministry, or other
related field

Recent experience in a Children/Family Ministry

  • Understands children as important members of the household of faith
  • Understands the family as the key support system for the faith nurture of children
  • Demonstrates ability to take initiative and follows through with planning schedule
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Experience working in, and values, a collaborative team relationship
  • Effectively supports and utilize volunteers in ministry programming

Demonstrates:

  • Commitment to the mission of RC
  • Character that lives out integrity and faith
  • Competency demonstrated in leadership skills and collaborative planning
  • Chemistry committed to developing team relationships

Salary: $15.25- $18.50/HR
