Job Description:

Bethel Church’s Mission statement is…To be a community of believers who are Living Free in God, Being Real with others, and Bringing Hope to the world. This statement becomes action in Youth Ministry as they:
o REACH area students with the message of Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20)
o EQUIP students to love the Lord with all their hearts, minds and souls. (Matt.22:37, Psalm 119:10, Psalm 37:4, Eph. 6:10-18)
o ENCOURAGE students to love, respect and value others and themselves the way God does. (Eph. 3:17, Psalm 139:14)
o SERVE one another. (John 13:14-16, Matthew 20:28)

The ministry includes the 7th through 12th grade student population within Bethel as well as in the surrounding community.

Responsibilities, Expectations, and Qualifications include:
o A humble person of great faith and solid demonstrated character as described in scripture. (e.g. Phil. 2:14-16, 1 John 3:16-20, Eph. 5:1-3)
o A person who is actively pursuing wholeness and holiness in an open, transparent manner.
o A Leader of leaders with demonstrated abilities to lead and refine a growing ministry by recruiting, equipping, overseeing and coordinating adult leaders and mentors.
o A proven partner with parents and a visible champion for youth within the local community and school system.
o Demonstrated ability to lead inclusively across the entire youth ministry for both age and gender.
o Able to provide appropriate mentoring and counseling of youth in a relevant transformational manner.
o Able to engage with youth within their age context and communication channels.
o A gifted preacher/teacher who can share the truths of scripture in a variety of settings to include youth group, retreats, small groups, Bible studies, and weekend services as directed.
o Coordinate and encourage the participation of youth within the greater church including attending weekend worship services, serving in areas in support of those weekend services, as well as serving within the community as part of the churches local outreach.
o A Bachelor’s degree to be relevant to the position: biblical studies, youth ministry, Christian education. Seminary degree program is preferred.
o 3 to 5 years of successful youth ministry experience (7th – 12th grade), preferably full time.
o A likely skill and gift mix would include: Leadership, Administration, Communication, Counseling, Encouragement, Discernment and Teaching.
