Christ United Methodist Church is the largest Methodist church in the state of Mississippi. It is a vibrant, growing congregation with history and ties to the United Methodist denomination. The history of the church is best summed up by their vision statement: A
community experiencing the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. Christ UMC has consistently been a leader in the community and is well known for dozens of ministries and programs offered to the community. The church is made up of all generations and a
multitude of children and families, with ministries for all ages.
The church's history is filled with involvement in local, state, and national mission projects. Jackson's flood of 1979 was a defining moment in the church’s life. During the city’s crisis, Christ UMC became the leader in flood relief in North Jackson. Christ
UMC also became a distribution center for Hurricane Katrina relief materials as well as sending numerous work teams to aid in the recovery efforts in 2005. Through events such as these, Christ UMC found expression for its genuine concern to its own members
and for the community as a whole. This concern remains at the heart of the church as they reach out to others in the name of Jesus Christ.
With the arrival of new Senior Pastor Bob Rambo, Christ United Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic and skilled operational leader to continue the track record of excellence in the administration of the financial and operational ministries of the church
over the next season of the ministry.
The Executive Director of Finance and Operations will serve as the church's primary Operational Manager whose primary responsibility is to grow and administer the tangible ministries of the church. Christ United Methodist Church continues to grow every year
and it will be the primary responsibility of the Executive Director of Finance and Operations to develop and maintain the systems, processes, and administrative culture that will seamlessly facilitate the growth as driven by the vision of the Senior Pastor
and Elder Board. The Executive Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for giving leadership and supervision to Finance/Stewardship, Facilities, Human Resources, IT, and General Administration.
The ideal candidate will most likely have had 5-10 years of management experience in a similar role with another organization of at least the size and scope of Christ United Methodist Church.
