Are you ready for a challenge in a fast paced, growing children's ministry filled with creative arts and cutting edge creations? A ministry that not only develops kids and families but truly ministers weekly to both the unsaved and saved alike. CrossWinds Church is looking for the perfect candidate to compliment our Family Ministry staff and help continue the growth we are seeing in our Children’s Ministry Department.


CrossWinds Church is located in the beautiful San Francisco bay area. We do church a little bit different as we focus on creating a welcoming environment for unchurched people with a nontraditional approach using music and creative arts. You will see new stage designs, relevant series that reach the church and unchurched alike, performance music and video segments that set up a conflict as our pastor shows through modern application how the Bible has the answers for whatever challenge you may be going through. We have seen consistent growth over the past two years nearly doubling in size in our children’s ministry alone. Crosswinds is currently averaging 1500 on Sunday mornings with over 250 kids spread out over our 3 services.


We are looking for someone to hit the ground running overseeing our elementary age students and help develop a stronger preteen ministry. Once this person has solidified this position discussion will begin to move them into a role overseeing the entire Children’s Ministry from birth through 5th grade. Person will report to the Family Pastor who currently oversees the entire children’s department.


Our children’s ministry follows the same series as the adults so it is vital this person have the ability to adapt adult messages to make them relevant to children. This approach helps parents to be able to partner better with the spiritual development of their children. We use a small group / large group approach. Children begin in game rooms with arcades and activities. They then split in to small groups to develop relationships with each other and their teachers as the lesson is set up. Afterwards they move in to the Kids Theatre where they experience a service with creative sets that has videos, music, and fun teaching. Our kids love going to church.


We have three large events for the year: Kids Camp (full day experience with 300 kids in our facilities), the FunFair (springtime carnival with over 500 in attendance), and Easter services (giant Easter Egg hunt and largest services of the year with over 400 kids). This person’s role would be vital in the success of each of these events.


Half of our families are unchurched with zero Bible knowledge while another large portion are well-versed. We balance ministering to both groups to prepare the way for these kids’ future.


We focus on Safety, Relationships, and Quality in everything we do. First we define the “why” behind the “what” and then we explore the best “how” possible to begin implementation of the vision.


The perfect candidate obviously needs to show a calling in to children’s ministry. Additionally these are some of the strengths that we need in our children’s pastor: communication skills (verbal and written), relational approachability, organization skills, a problem solver, ability to write curriculum, and a visionary for what God can do in these kids’ lives.


This position is a full time position with benefits and room for advancement. Resumes need to be two pages in length showing previous ministry experience; ministry philosophy or objective; and a personal bio explaining a little about yourself, your calling and why we should consider you for the position. Degree in a relevant field and previous experience leading in a church of 1,000 plus is preferred (even if not on staff).
