We are open to where God is leading and work to honor God with excellence in what

Reinvention of Student Ministries Team proposes:
The new student ministry position should be full time. Kids need a consistent leader.
The DSM should have responsibility for both middle school and high school student ministries.
It is critical that the DSM is passionate about God and about students, able to build a strong volunteer team, and loves to have fun.
Student ministry is grounded in 4 summer mission trips: 6th grade/7-8th grades/two high school trips
It is our hope that the DSM can be in place in time to go on the summer mission trips.(by June 9)
We want our kids to know Jesus.
Values/vision statement for Student Ministry:
(who we were, are, and hope to be...)
We are a unique community of students and leaders who understand the church to be the place where...
Students belong- without condition. It's a safe place to be yourself- your real self- with all your bumps and triumphs. It's a place to share a journey with other students, to be and encounter authentic people who become trusted fellow travelers.
God shows up! Through worship, music, conversation with leaders and other students, and serving-God's presence is real.
We talk about and discover what it means that we are loved by God and that God desires to know us and be known.
We know that God's love took form in Jesus, Who came and lived, was killed and conquered sin and death so that we can be made new, transformed by a grace-filled relationship with Christ.
We know that experiencing Christ calls for a response from us-
--to fully invest in deepening our relationship with Christ and others
--to be the extension of Christ in the world- (Acts 1:8)
beginning at Peace, from Gahanna, to Ohio, throughout the US, and beyond-
--to love mercy, do justice, and walk humbly with God
We have experienced that God desires life to be full and abundant- and that means that our life together is filled with joy! Laughter and play are all part of our relationships together! Good times around good food and shared lives. (It's no surprise that stories from Scripture are full of people sharing table together!)
Leaders are committed to building into our students through a consistent presence, honest and appropriate conversation and behaviors, and a willingness to invest in their own deepening relationship with Christ.
We follow Jesus and so we understand that we may be surprised at the road we travel with him, but we are convinced that God is for us and so we trust without fear.
