Job Description:

Decatur First United Methodist Church is currently searching for a Director of Children & Family Ministries.  Decatur is located in north central, Alabama, about 20 miles from Huntsville, Alabama.  Decatur First is a congregation committed to growing more fully committed Disciples of Jesus Christ, and we understand this commitment must begin with children. This position will provide leadership to all the children and family ministries with the exception of First Grace, which is the churches weekday ministry for preschoolers.  It is expected that this position will work closely with the Director of First Grace.  A love for Jesus Christ and a sense of calling to full-time ministry is vital.  Preference will be given to persons who have leadership experience in a growing Children’s Ministry and a degree related to children.  Candidate should possess a capacity for visionary team building and equipping for the sake of effective ministry.  An added plus would be gifts in the area of communications.
