Job Description:

First Baptist Church of Arkansas City, KS is seeking the man God is leading to fill the position of Associate Pastor of Youth. This position is a vital part of the church staff, and ministry of First Baptist Church. We are looking for a Youth Pastor with vision, passion, and enthusiasm for discipling the youth of First Baptist Church. We are looking for a strong communicator, with high character with an obvious passion for and a growing deep relationship with Christ. A commitment to reaching the unchurched as well as challenging youth to grow in their relationship with Christ is crucial. The primary focus of youth ministry at FBC should be concentrated on discipleship with a blend of activities and events with the emphasis being focused on but not limited to middle high and high school students. The youth pastor would communicate clearly with all staff and in accord with the Senior Pastor.


Ministry responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the weekly planning and conducting of youth activities/events/programs such as bible studies, discipleship, evangelism, youth conferences, concerts, camps, etc. Oversee and train the youth to assume leadership roles that foster their talents and gifts. Initiate new programs or ministries. Work in cooperation with the staff on programs and plans for the entire church family. Support the regular services of the church and encourage the youth to do likewise. Model an exemplary Christian lifestyle and seek opportunities to be involved occasionally with the youth of the community such as lunches, athletic events, and extra-curricular activities.


It is understood that all associate ministry positions may also involve other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor such as preaching, teaching, visitation, etc.
