Proven Biblical integrity; a positive Biblical attitude; a healthy and stable marriage (if married); a mature and good handle on the Word of God; the ability to get along well with people; a passion to integrate the Word of God with music; musically talented
and educated; a heart passion for leading and guiding God’s church in varied musical praise and worship; a spiritual leader with a healthy perspective for working with volunteers and the ability to encourage them while developing musical content and presentation.
Possesses a passion for worship through music within the local church setting; professional training in the field of music; a broad knowledge of both musical instrumentation and vocal configurations; experience leading worship in a large church (750+) or
similar venue; embrace a broad spectrum of music that spans traditional hymns to contemporary/modern praise and worship; the ability to lead worship with a sensitivity to God’s presence; the ability to be flexible with music styles and put the people and church
before his own preferences (when entering into the arena of public worship the bigger picture is needed to meet the needs of the wide diversity of people representative of the whole congregation).
Possesses a Divine calling into the ministry; uses music as a gift from God to reach people with the gospel of God; uses music to exalt God as well as build up and shepherd the people of God; a passion for people and their spiritual growth.
Has the requisite administrative skills to oversee the music and tech ministries and will participate as a member of the church’s Senior Staff.
Prefer Bachelors and/or Masters degrees in related field(s) or commensurate experience
Must be a growing mature Christian who has a visible and intimate walk with Jesus Christ and feels led by Him to apply for this position.
Must be willing to submit to God and allow Him to use, stretch, and lead on a daily basis.
Has a useful and balanced understanding of the Bible. Able to endorse and support Bethany’s Statement of Faith as documented in Bethany Constitution and By-laws (see website).
Desired spiritual gifts mix in the areas of teaching, encouragement, and serving.
Ministry Values and Skills
Has 2-3 years experience in worship ministry, program design, and implementation in a blended and an “Edgy” worship setting as well as Pastoral experience.
Proven ability to recruit, lead, motivate, equip, manage and build relationships with volunteers.
Proven organizational and administrative skills.
Able to delegate tasks and equip others in order to grow a ministry that is not built around one person. A team player that is not interested in glorifying themselves but rather the God we serve.
A servant leader. Has the initiative to see what needs to be done and does it without having to be asked.
