To reach 6th through 12th graders with the gospel of Christ by assisting Student Pastor and Student Ministry Staff through leading of the worship ministry in Summit Student Ministry as well as assisting in developing, planning and executing programs in the Student Ministry.


Ministry Goal:

Summit Student Ministries exists to equip our students with the tools necessary to Love God, Love People, Serve Others and ultimately Reach Others for Jesus Christ. We equip students to love God by giving them a dynamic worship experience. We equip them to Love People through our small group community called Core Groups. We equip them to Serve Others through serving projects like our 1Life campaign that raises $20k a year for an impoverished community in Kenya. We equip the students to Reach Others by tying these values together and showing them that they are more than able!


Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading Student Ministry worship on a regular basis.

  • Is actively involved with ministry planning and vision. This includes videos, dramas, topics, activities.

  • Schedules musicians and singers. Ensures there will always be adequate coverage in the event of absences.

  • Recruits new band members and singers as needed.

  • Coordinates and directs weekly worship team rehearsals.

  • Actively caring for and discipling students and coaches.

  • Copies and distributes weekly worship packets.

  • Works directly with Student and Adult teams to coordinate the input of worship songs and slides.

  • General worship maintenance – stage, audio, lighting needs.

  • Meets weekly with Student Pastor to review, strategize, and plan upcoming events.

  • Involved in Summit Christian Church small group ministry.

  • Create videos, announcement slides, and banners to promote Student Ministry.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.




Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead a worship team of band members and singers.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

  • Commitment to the mission of the church.

  • Knowledge of volunteer management.

  • Ability to empower and motivate others.

  • Ability to be called upon when needs arise.

  • Demonstrates a servant attitude and willingness to work courteously with others.

  • Deep love of middle and high school students.

  • An ability to think creatively.

  • A clear profession of faith in Christ lived out personally.

  • Ability to identify and prioritize ministry needs and provide prompt service in addressing needs.

  • A team player.

  • A college degree.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years experience in coordinating and leading a worship team.

  • Basic skills in MS Excel, Word, email.

  • Has experience with Adobe Suite products (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects).



  • Direct reporting relationship – Student Pastor
  • Working relationships – All Summit staff and pastors, various ministry leaders, volunteers, Summit congregation, and visitors.
