Job Description:

SUMMARY

This is an accounting position that will support the Pastors, Ministerial and office staff to ensure the financial and fiduciary integrity of the church.  Accounting functions include monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, budgeting, variance analysis and account reconciliation.

The individual will also provide financial supervision and support to congregation members and staff including reports created through MS Publisher and Powerpoint


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generating reports and analyses; monthly, quarterly and annually  
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Compilation of Annual Budgeting
  • Dissemination of information to members including: quarter end and year end reports
  • Assist on special projects as required
  • Liaison with external auditor

 

SYSTEMS INVOLVED:

  • Microsoft Office (Intermediate Excel skills)
  • MS Publisher
  • Shelby Systems

 

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Working knowledge of Shelby Systems desired

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
