Bethel Church, a multi-site church in Nothwest Indiana, is looking to fill the full-time position of Pastor of Student ministries.
We are evangelical, reformed in our soteriology, and non-denominational.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of full-time, vocational youth ministry experienced in a large church is required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Pastor of Student Ministries will lead and love the staff, volunteers, and most importantly the students of the Student Ministries of Bethel Church.
His passion will be for gospel ministry among young people in fulfillment of Bethel Church’s philosophy and vision of ministry.
This person will manage and supervise all Student Ministries staff. He will pastor the students of the Crown Point campus and champion the vision and overall scope of all Student Ministries.
This person should have a heart for gospel-focused, family-based ministry that disciples students toward spiritual maturity.
He will lead toward a unified focus for Student Ministries in collaboration and cooperation with our Kids’ Ministries to address the needs of the next generation.
This person will be the Student Ministries representative of Bethel Church and will champion its doctrine, philosophy, and worldview. He will fulfill the biblical vision of leadership integrity (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1) and gospel humility.
This full-time position reports to the Executive Pastor of Ministries.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Gives overall leadership direction to Student Ministries staff and lay leaders by developing and empowering them in their specific areas of responsibility.
Develops and oversees policies and procedures for an effective student ministry.
Leads the teaching ministry and is an effective teacher of biblical truth within the Student Ministries community.
Gives oversight and wisdom to the direction of Student Ministries to ensure strong biblical teaching and authentic worship across all campuses.
Develops and implements a strategy to enhance community within Student Ministries, with the goal that every student, from 6th through 12th grade, is part of a small group.
Develops and gives oversight to a strategy for continuing to identify the specific needs of both middle school and high school students and how Student Ministries can best meet these needs.
Develops and implements a strategy to ensure that Student Ministries is effectively reaching out and impacting their community and schools.
Works closely with Kids’ Ministries to ensure smooth transition of students entering middle school.
Works closely with the Young Adults Ministries to ensure high school students transition to college or careers with spiritual health.
Works with other ministry departments to integrate ministry opportunities for students and families.
Manages and/or provides oversight of administrative needs of Student Ministries (i.e., budget, staff vacation, Student Ministries’ staff and events calendars, etc.).
Provides shepherding, counsel, and care to students and families.
Participates in the Pastor on Call (POC) Ministry; participates and serves at weekend services in pastoral/counselor capacity; conducts hospital visits, funerals and weddings, as needed.
Models the core values of Bethel Church.
Strong, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated through regular prayer, Bible study and worship attendance.
A degree in biblical studies or youth ministry strongly preferred.
Significant experience on a large church staff with strong background leading student ministries.
Strategic thinker with the ability to manage, mobilize and motivate people.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates godly character through commitment to growth, development and community; has a servant’s heart and is a source of life and unity to the staff team.
A healthy family life. If married, the spouse must be a believer and supportive of the ministry, as well as involved at Bethel Church.
