Job Description:

Spiritual Growth & Connection Pastor

 

New Hope Durango is looking for a new pastoral team member to work together with our staff team to impact our community and our world with the good news of Jesus' love, grace, forgiveness, healing, and hope.  We are a 10 year old, contemporary, non-denominational church, meeting in a movie theater on Sundays.  Church size is approximately 300-400. 

 

New Hope puts an emphasis on authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, and with each other, a passion to grow in Christ, outreach to our world, heartfelt worship to our King, and joyful serving to participate with God's activity.

 

We are intent on this team member having a unique ability to connect socially and culturally with the 20-40 age group, but also with the ability to relate spiritually and with leadership to other age groupings.

 

The Spiritual Growth & Connection Pastor will:

 

Provide leadership for Spiritual Growth and Formation

  • Develop      and implement a holistic discipleship plan
  • Oversee      the LifeGroup ministry. The emphasis is on community and secondarily      equipping and service.
  • Develop      and train leaders
  • Provide      leadership and guidance for the men's ministry

 

Provide leadership for Assimilating and Connecting people

  • Oversee      the process of new people being welcomed and connecting to other people in      the church
  • Innovate      and discover strategies for the "regulars", as well as the newer      people to connect with each other and build community.

 

Provide leadership for 20s/30s age group

  • Build      relationship and foster community with the younger      generation--particularly the 20s and 30s age group.

 

Other

  • Teaching      - should be comfortable and skilled in teaching both in classroom type      setting, as well as the main Sunday morning service

 

  • Pastoral      Services- Weddings, funerals, hospital visits, prayer with people, and      simple pastoral level counseling.

 

  • Working      with the rest of the staff team in strategies to help our church be      effective and execute special events including planning and implementing      those plans.

 

Durango is in the southwest part of Colorado, part of the Four-Corners area.  It is a recreation destination with an abundance of snow skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, boating, etc.  We have all four seasons of weather.
