Job Description:

TITLE: Pastor of Worship Arts


PURPOSE:  Lead and Shepherd the ministry of worship and creative arts at First Church of God through the development of volunteer ministry teams and creating environments that lead the church to authentic devotion to Christ.


SUPERVISION:  Senior Pastor



            -Design & Produce weekend Worship Celebrations and Special Events

                        -plan worship and celebrations in coordination with Preaching Team 

                        -coordinate weekly rehearsals for Worship Celebrations (Thursday nights)

                        -develop and oversee leaders of Vocal Teams

                        -develop and oversee leaders of Instrumental Teams

                        -develop and oversee leaders of Drama & Media Teams

                        -develop and oversee leaders of Sound, Lighting & Staging Teams

            -Oversee technology ministries

            -Assist in the administration of the sacraments and other ministry leadership as needed

            -Support the mission & ministry values outlined by church leadership

            -Motivate, train & equip volunteer laypersons to do ministry 



            -College education preferred

            -Three years of worship ministry leadership experience preferred

            -Presently involved in full-time worship leadership preferred



            -Gifts in creative communication, instrumental & vocal music

            -Familiar with and/or skilled with technology, video and media as it relates to worship arts.

            -Ability to relate well with adults, youth & children

            -Self-starting with organizing capabilities, able to lead and be a student of leadership development.
