Children’s Ministries Director”

We are looking for a Children's ministry Director to step into the leadership of a vibrant and active children's ministry.

We are looking for someone to give overall leadership to Calvary Children’s ministries (birth-grade 6), to lead Calvary's efforts to provide a safe, loving place to establish a foundation as well as an intentional environment for growth in faith in the lives of the children entrusted to us by developing a partnership with parents, family members and volunteers in the ministry .

This position requires a person who has a passion and a deep love for the children of our community, our county and our world.
If married, there is a dynamic spousal love relationship which models God honoring marriage.
If a parent, there is a God honoring, fun loving relationship with children which models Godly parenting
This person must have a personal, passionate, contagious relationship with Jesus Christ and a high value for worship. As well there is a personal hunger to be “on the growing edge” of personal, spiritual and professional growth.
Formal Bible &/or seminary training preferred but strong Bible proficiency would be considered.
Professional training or significant level of experience at the leadership level in large, complex church based Children’s ministry.

This is a high capacity position which will oversee approximately 130 volunteers reaching 450 kids. This position will be responsible for vision and mission planning as well as the strategic planning. This position as well will equip and empower the lay leaders that God has brought forward into this ministry.
This person will also be able to build relationships with all ages of children.
Calvary stands by the premise that it is the responsibility of the parents to raise the children and the role of the church is to come alongside and support and encourage, equip and provide training and information for our parents to raise their families in a way that honors God. It is expected that this position will develop programs and provide information that will allow for that training and equipping to occur. This position will also be a resource for parents to come to with questions about the developmental stages of their children.
This person will also be the pastoral shepherd to all Children’s ministry staff (building loving, encouraging relationships which lead them into spiritual maturity),.
As well this person will have an understanding of each level of childhood development from birth-6th grade and the affects each level has on parenting issues and an understanding of how spiritual formation develops and is recognized in a child with clear benchmarks laid out for transitional stages.

Time Required:
Assume a 50-60 hour work week…some scheduled time (large group studies, social events, special events); some planning time, some meetings & coordination, children and parent connection time. Personal attendance at one worship service each weekend is required.
