Job Description:

VALEO ACADEMY is a dynamic Christian day school serving grades kindergarten through twelfth grade. Looking for H.S. TEACHERS skilled in one or more of the following subjects:  ENGLISH, SCIENCE and/or MATH



  • Bachelor’s Degree and IL Teacher’s Certificate (Type 09, Secondary Education preferred)
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience
  • Must have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, a pursuit of maturity in the faith, a growing walk in the Spirit, and able to support the ministry’s objectives and statement of faith




  • Excellent written and verbal skills and able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to multi-task, have good organizational and classroom management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and effective at problem solving
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Be a team player
  • Able to create engaging lesson plans that meet minimum state requirements and are based on the Principle Approach philosophy
  • Able to comprehend and apply the educational philosophy and method of instruction of the school




  • Create, submit, and execute yearly, quarterly, and weekly lesson plans for assigned courses according to the curriculum and educational objectives of the school
  • Observe and evaluate student progress through the administration of various assignments, research projects, and tests
  • Manage the classroom, maintain classroom discipline, and administer appropriate disciplinary action according to school policy
  • Oversee study halls; plan, facilitate, and accompany students on field trips as needed
  • Share responsibility for grade level and school-wide activities and special events
  • Attend department and school-wide meetings
  • Manage report card and transcript information using PowerSchool
  • Coordinate and attend Parent-Teacher Conferences
  • Perform other duties as assigned
